Answer: Wow y reaction in chapter 17 was very sad and surprised.I was sad because I didn't think that the old shaman Graybeard will pass away in chapter 17.I thought he was gonna live on continuing teaching Tao more and more painting and drawing skills.I was surprised because all this time that Tao was with his clan that his leader of his clan was his long lost father that he never met or seen.I got really tense on that part of the chapter when Volt finally talk to Tao in a way of smoothness and not anger.Then he told Tao that he no longer needs a father.

Why does Tao feel he needs to go to the Mountain People?
Answer: Tao needed to go to the mountain people to prove him self to that clan that he is now a new cave painter like how he proved him self to the valley people.

Answer: What happens next is that Tao goes to the mountains to go to the clan of the mountain people.Tao goes to them and introduces him self to the leader Duke.Duke was a leader who was very picky on people at first he didn't believe Tao and imprisoned him in the dark cave.Tao was alone and didn't had any food to eat.The leader was very happy on what he have done because he thought Tao was an intruder and was gonna steal their food and other stuff.Then Tao was becoming very hungry and to get rid of his hunger Tao reached in to his skin pouch and grab his painting equipments and tried to reach out of the cage to the wall of thecave and started painting.He swung his hands freely like how Graybeard had thought him.Swinging his hand freely lines to lines making a beautiful image of a bison.After he smiled to his painting feeling s proud as proud as he could be thinking that his death is becoming sooner and sooner.Outside the cave Duke and his clan members were talking about the boy after Duke sended Kaloy his right hand man to go to the cave and check on the boy if he is still there and not have scaped.So Kaloy went to the cave and he saw Tao lying in the cage looking so hungry and thirsty.When Kaloy stepped inside the cave he noticed a marvelous painting of a bisonso majestic and beautiful.Right after he saw the painting he quickly rushed to Duke to tell him about the marvelous painting and that the boy might have been telling the truth.Then Duke Kaloy reported to Duke and Duke ordered his people to witness what Kaloy was saying.They all went to the cave and saw the marvelous painting they were so amazed that they forgot about Tao as a thief to them.Then Duke was also so amazed that he ordered his men to let Tao free and take him in to the hut to get some food and water.Tao took a longin the hut and woke up,he saw Duke and his men in front of him and he was so afraid that they might kill him.But quickly Duke went on his knees to be forgiven by the boy.Duke said "Please forgive our miss behavior cave painter we were just curious and did not believe you we are so sorry."Tao couldn't say anything rest he was so surprised for a leader of a clan to go on his knees and ask for forgiveness.Duke quickly ask the boy "Young cave painter will you paint for us to grant us good luck?" Tao smiled,"I'll be glad to."After everyone smiled and had a celebration for the new cave painter Tao.
